Responsive Coaching

Responsive coaching is a supportive coaching relationship ideal for leaders who are taking on a new challenge or opportunity in their work.

How it works: Andrea acts as both a coach and added capacity for the client, by coaching on a set of ongoing priority areas, responding to the coaching needs of the moment and also advancing the work by providing resources and generating drafts on behalf of the client.  The client engages in weekly, biweekly, or periodic calls with Andrea, who spends a few hours of work time outside of the coaching call each week to advance the client’s priorities.

What My Partners Have to Say

Kirk Johnson, Founder & CEO,

SOUNDS Academy

Andrea has been the guidance that I never knew I needed. She truly understands the pits and peaks of running an organization and communicates feedback in a passionate, supportive, and direct way. Her knowledge and expertise on organizational leadership have helped me to enhance my skills as a CEO, which has subsequently elevated the impact that SOUNDS Academy has had in the community. Additionally, her suggested changes have helped me improve and develop strategies regarding organizational and workforce development, fundraising, working with a Board of Directors, and understanding the importance of self-care and work-life balance as a leader. If you are looking for transformative solutions and sustainable success, Andrea may be the right coach for you!

Tatenda Blessing Muchiriri, Executive Director, Montessori on Wheels

Andrea was instrumental in getting my organization, Montessori on Wheels, off the ground and guiding it into the growth phase. Her approach was not just about enhancing our operational effectiveness but also about grounding her coaching in a deep understanding of me as a leader—acknowledging both my professional ambitions and my life outside of work. This holistic perspective was crucial as it ensured the strategies we developed were not only effective but also sustainable, given my broader life context.

From the outset, Andrea dove deep into understanding the unique challenges and opportunities of our startup. She meticulously helped me come up with our organizational structure, workflows, and responsibilities, shining a light on areas where we could operate  efficiently and where we needed to build capacity to support our growth. Her ability to listen and understand our team dynamics and the essence of Montessori on Wheels made her insights and guidance particularly impactful.

The time I spent working with Andrea was transformative for Montessori on Wheels, driving us into a phase of stability and growth. What distinguishes Andrea from others is her coaching, marked by humanness and a comprehensive understanding of leadership, has left a lasting impact on me and my organization. I am deeply grateful for her support and guidance.

James Edmond Jr., Ph.D., Senior Director, Partner Engagement, Modern Classrooms Project

Andrea Stouder has been a trusted thought partner and valuable resource for non-profit sales and sales leadership throughout my coaching sessions. She always thoughtfully plans ahead for our time together and includes resources to enrich our work. Andrea has also helped me navigate and anticipate the needs of the team I supervise, while nurturing my own professional needs as a senior leader in an organization.  Trust is very important in a coaching relationship — I wholeheartedly trust Andrea. Her professional background and her genuine personality are the perfect match for anyone wanting to grow and enhance their leadership skills.

Christine Barford, Vice President of Partnerships, Modern Classrooms Project

Working with Andrea has made a tremendous impact on our entire organization's ability to scale our impact. Andrea is not just a thoughtful and thorough thought partner and coach, she's been an extra hand for high-level projects that otherwise would have stalled. When I came to Andrea, I wanted help not just getting better at what needed to be done now but also someone to help me plan forward and strategically. In our busiest time of the year, Andrea allowed me to hire additional team members by drafting job descriptions, hiring exercises, and evaluation criteria. She has reviewed my 1 on 1s, helped me plan team meetings, and made me a better leader. I knew when looking for a coach that I needed a partner in the work. Working with Andrea is indeed having a partner, a cheerleader, and someone to hold you accountable to the important work you're doing.

Aasimah Navlakhi, CEO, BES

“As a new CEO—especially one coming in on the heels of a founder—I needed a coach who was not only a thought partner, but also actively helpful in setting goals, producing drafts, and engaging with the larger team. In our short time working together, Andrea has proven to be all of this and much more. She internalizes the strengths and challenges of the team(s) she works with, treats client success as personal success, and brings a wealth of experience in leadership, management, and fundraising. She makes me and BES feel like we're her only and most important client, which is a testament to her investment in the work. I would recommend her to any leader who is looking for thought partnership at the big picture level, combined with high-quality, detailed support with implementing and executing on the details.”

Bex Ahuja, Managing Director,

Rockwood Leadership Institute

“Being a leader in these times is so challenging. Andrea is not only a trusted advisor on nuanced and tricky executive challenges, but also holds me accountable to me being at my best, and is wildly competent at providing the hands-on support to get me to the finish line. I get more leadership WINS because of Andrea's coaching and support.”

Rukiya Ross, Vice President of Business Strategy, Springboard Collaborative

“Andrea has been coaching me since January 2020. She quickly became a trusted and knowledgeable advisor. I lead a team consisting of Communications, HR, Finance, Operations, and Systems. Leading these varied functions at a rapidly growing organization presents a wide-array of challenges and Andrea is always readily available with advice and guidance. She has helped me improve my management skills through observations and feedback. She has helped me craft team strategy by empowering me to consider what I need, and then actually ask for those needs. She has shared resources and reviewed key policies and procedures. Andrea is adept at going narrow, and providing specific, tactical advice on challenges, and also going broad, helping connect the dots between best practices for my entire team.

In the time since I began to work with Andrea, I received my best performance review, implemented feedback for team members that had a considerable impact on our work, and created equity-centered practices with her guidance and support among many, many other achievements.”

Meghan Wagner, Director of Finance and Operations, Springfield Prep Charter School

“Andrea worked with me to help determine how I could reorganize my work and my team’s work to ensure we had capacity to effectively support our growing organization. Working with Andrea provided the structure and accountability that I needed to effectively analyze our team and make important changes. It was particularly helpful because she really took the time to understand our team and our organization. We began with a calendar, team structure and responsibilities review. It was incredibly illuminating to dive into these with her to realize where we had some inefficiencies with our team structure and where we distinctly needed additional capacity. She helped to develop the hiring process for the new position and kept me accountable to continue on that path when I could have easily gotten too busy with other work to prioritize this. It was incredibly valuable to have the dedicated time set aside with her coaching to work through these much-needed changes.”
